Maria has over 15 years’ experience working on sustainability issues in the charity sector, delivering activities across internal communications, branding, PR, digital communications, insight and audience engagement.
She has led the marketing and communications function at FareShare, the national food redistribution charity, during times of extensive growth and has delivered both B2B and consumer campaigns to raise the issue of food waste and food poverty.
She has significant experience in managing complex and multi-layered projects working with some of the UK’s top retailers and rolling out PR programmes for initiatives such as national food drives.
While at FareShare, Maria managed the measurement of impact through UK-wide research targeting FareShare’s charity recipients and their beneficiaries to assess outcomes and impact of the food provided. She has also driven key public affairs activity around the issues of food waste and food poverty, including developing policy statements, writing responses to DEFRA consultations as well as APPG evidence submissions.
Maria is passionate about creating positive impact for the community and the environment and believes strongly in providing individuals and organisations with the skills, tools and knowledge they need to make changes for the better.
