Believing strongly in the power of sport and physical exercise to change lives in many ways, Nasima is passionate about delivering high impact campaigns and initiatives to encourage people to participate and be active.
Nasima’s strength lies in getting to the heart of what makes people tick, finding that sweet spot that will engage them in sport in a way that’s right for them. She effectively marries key audience insights with client ambitions to craft campaigns that connect with the right audiences, driving awareness and action.
Until recently Nasima was Managing Director at specialist Sports and Fitness PR agency Promote, leading some of the agency’s largest clients. Work highlights during this time include launching Project Rugby for Premiership Rugby and the RFU. This participation programme focuses on recruiting more young players from BAME, disabled and low socio economic communities into the sport. For England Hockey, she created an emotive video led campaign #behindeverygreatplayer. Hoping to get more parents to encourage their children to try hockey, the videos featured members of the Women’s England Hockey Team and their families, highlighting the important role that parents play in sporting success at any level. Nasima also led the event marketing for the World Para Swimming Championships at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Stakeholder engagement, a steady stream of storytelling content, digital marketing and media relations all contributed to sell-out sessions at this world class event.
Having worked in communications agencies for over 20 years, Nasima’s experience spans many other sectors including health and wellbeing, entertainment, consumer tech and FMCG. She has led national and global campaigns for the likes of Samsung, P&G and Marks and Spencer.
In her spare time Nasima can be found pitchside supporting her Hockey playing daughter, or improving her own PBs in the gym.
