Jessica Shepherd

Jessica has worked at the heart of government for the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Commission for Countering Extremism, an independent agency of the Home Office. Prior to this, she spent nine years as The Guardian’s Education Correspondent and then News Editor (Planning), where she wrote, commissioned and edited front-page news stories, features and analysis articles.

As a former national journalist now in communications, she has both an insider’s perspective on the angles the media take and a senior communications expert’s understanding of how to manage sensitive, high-profile issues. Her expertise includes PR strategy, digital communications, external affairs, PR evaluation, media relations, stakeholder engagement, media training and crisis communications.
