Nigel has worked in print and online journalism for the past 40 years. After cutting his teeth as a cub reporter at a provincial daily newspaper in South Africa, he moved to the UK, specialising in sports and later motorcycle journalism. In 1995 he became editor of Athletics Weekly and managing editor of Today’s Runner. During this time he was responsible for launching several new titles.
This was followed by nine years as a senior sub-editor at The Times in London, and nine years as chief sub-editor at The National newspaper in Abu Dhabi. These roles provided Nigel with a wide range of subject experience. At The Times he was involved in editorial production for several sections of the newspaper, including news and a range of weekly supplements. At The National he worked on foreign and national news, features and special projects.
Nigel is now a freelance copy editor working across a range of subject areas.
