Barley Communications and Keep Britain Tidy have been shortlisted in the Campaign of the Year – Health and Safety or Education Outreach category at the MRW National Recycling Awards 2026.
The shortlisting recognises our work on Fight Fly-tipping Fortnight, a national behaviour change campaign tackling one of the root causes of fly-tipping: householders unknowingly using unlicensed waste carriers. Through our #RubbishDeal campaign, we encouraged people to take simple steps to ensure their waste was disposed of responsibly.
The campaign generated 944 million opportunities to see or hear its messaging, while visits to the Environment Agency’s licensed waste carrier register increased by 159% on launch day. Independent evaluation also found that 74% of audiences exposed to the campaign were less likely to use cheap waste removal services advertised online.
